Pirate shirts
These shirts are made with a Reconstructing History pattern.
Pirate shirts are available for
both men and women and can be made out of a variety of lightweight fabrics (cotton,
velours de panne, seersucker, linen ...) and in fantasy pirate style (like the
shirts in Pirates of the Caribbean) or historically accurate (please note that
these shirts should be made out of white or off-white linen to _really_ be
historically accurate).
Pirate shirts are loose fitting and should be worn underneath a waistcoat (for
men) or stays (for women) when you are reenacting.
If you're not reenacting, wear them as you please, but note that they are
naturally quite wide and designed to be worn underneat another garment.
If you
place an order, then please let me
know which colour, fabric and size you would like, as well as whether you want
your shirt to have a sleeve ruffle or not.
starting price: € 50
sizes: women's small and large and men's medium and large.

This is a picture of my friend Christoff wearing a white cotton fantasy pirate shirt. (It was a quick picture taken at a roleplaying game, hence the unpiraty trousers and sneakers). While it's perfect for Jack Sparrow cosplay and fantasy pirate costumes, it's also historically accurate when you are portraying a member of the upper class from the Golden Age of Piracy, provided you get one out of linen. The design is historically accurate, and I added the sleeve ruffle because Christoff requested a shirt like Jack Sparrow's. It's made from soft white cotton. The sash he's wearing with it is a black crinkle cotton one and part of my own fantasy pirate costume. The waistcoat is my friend Scott's.
